It has been a busy month for NECF and we are happy to have launched two more playgrounds in Meru county at St Philomena Homes of Hope and Meru women's prison!

Meru Women's Prison

The NECF developed the Playground in Prisons project with a goal of installing playgrounds in all women’s prisons throughout Kenya. It is through play that children at a very early age engage and interact in the world around them. Not to mention, access to play brings happiness to children!

St. Philomena Homes of Hope

Father Francis Riwa opened St. Philomena, St. Francis and St. Clare Homes for Children, and has made it his life mission to rescue orphans and poor street children in Meru County, Kenya. He provides shelter, food, education and Catholic spiritual formation to children who have no one else to care for them. St. Philomena has a nice garden for the children to play in, but was lacking good outdoor equipment.

We would like to thank Operation Play for partnering with us once again to put play equipment at St Philomena Homes of Hope. Through this partnership, NECF has managed to improve the lives of more children. We look forward to collaborating on more projects and as we say, 'bring happiness to children'.
