This month the NECF is excited to collaborate with the ‘Reaching Heart through Arts’ initiative to bring you our NECF readers and your children downloadable activity and coloring pages to support creativity and mental health!
We caught up with Aarushi the founder of Hearts Through Art who expressed how in stressful times, like the current COVID-19 pandemic, it is ever so important to spread optimism.
“80% of thoughts for an average human are negative. Such thoughts are even more prevalent in underprivileged individuals including victims of domestic violence, the homeless, and critically ill and especially during stressful times, such as COVID-19.”
Aarushi - Founder of Reaching Hearts Through Art
While the NECF explores mental health wellness this month, Aarushi tells us how constantly reading about all the saddening news can really take a toll on our mental health. “Now, more than ever, it is important to be optimistic and have hope. This is where Reaching Hearts Through Art comes in! The RHTA initiative posts daily motivational messages on social media.”
For NECF, the Reaching Hearts through Art has made simple step-by-step art worksheets/coloring sheets in 3 different art styles: Tribal African art, Indian Warli, and Madhubani art for children to take part in during this period. The worksheets can be downloaded below for printing.
